Only by the Night Heat — ES-325 Through Selmer
Caleb Followill’s defining guitar of the era was his 1972 Gibson ES-325, and producer Jacquire King has specifically identified a Selmer TruVoice Treble-N-Bass Fifty on “Sex on Fire.” The sessions used up to two amplifiers per performance, typically captured with an SM57 and U67, with short slap delay and additional EchoBoy delay added selectively. Exact amplifier controls were not published, so settings are approximated from that documented recording chain.
