The debut’s guitars were captured through a battered Selmer and Fender Bassman 100 with substantial low-frequency roll-off, producing the wiry space between the parts. A Höfner Galaxie appears with Kapranos in the song’s visual material, but its use on the recording is unverified; settings are therefore approximated from the album rig.
