Console-Pushed Les Paul — Triple-Tracked Riff
Page recorded the Les Paul through a direct box into a mixing-console mic preamp driven into distortion, followed by two UREI 1176 compressors in series. The riff was triple-tracked, so this preset uses representative preamp and compressor values because the original control positions were not published. Signal Chain
Notes
Record the riff three times rather than copying one take. Keep each take tight but not perfectly identical, and pan them to create the record's dense, almost synthesizer-like texture.
Don't have Other?
See the same signal chain mapped to another platform. Knob values carry over as starting points — gain ranges differ between platforms. NAM/TONEX users: the real gear names are what to search for as captures.
