Sheffield Garage Detonation — Strat Riff & Tele Counterline

The early Arctic Monkeys sound paired Alex Turner’s white Fender Stratocaster and Orange AD30 with Jamie Cook’s brighter Telecaster-family guitar and Hiwatt combo. Turner’s period pedalboard included Pro Co RAT distortion, but no exact studio knob sheet survives, so all numerical settings are approximated from the documented early rig. Notes

Use much less bass than a modern rock preset and pick close to the bridge. The two guitars should sound different: Alex provides compressed grit while Jamie adds a cleaner, wirier edge.
